Artist Spotlight – E-Clipse
Our first artist spotlight is here kids. A local kid from Easton, MA, E-Clipse. Stands for Evan Creates Lyrics In Perfect Situations Everytime. He’s only 17 and he’s been writing/rapping since 2005. I’ve got 3 tracks here, and was told he’ll hopefully have a mixtape dropping around April. He’s got room to grow, but at the same time he shows a good amount of potential. For my taste, his voice/delivery is a little too deep, but it’s definitely not a bad thing. The beats and production this kid is bringing are pretty hot, some real head bobbing material. I’d say the 3 tracks are all pretty equal, as in not one stands out more than the other, but they all have a slight change in style which is a nice touch, and you get a better feel for his story-telling potential on Watch Your Back. FYI, Fire is a freestyle over a B-Real and Damien Marley track. Anyway, decide for yourselves…

It was almost 5 years ago when Evan hit me up with some tracks for my radio show. I gave a listen, and gave him some advice. Over time we have touched base once or twice, and I would check into his page, to see what he was working on. Sometimes in my hectic schedule it's tough to keep up with people on a day to day basis, but about two years ago he hit me up with more tracks. The tracks were much better, and I could see he was still hungry which meant he had more room to grow… Fast forward to today, and I must say that it doesn't surprise me that I'm sitting here bobbing my head to his tracks, and downloading them for my iPod to listen to in my ride. Evan is a hungry dude, and he is trying to "beast" his way out of Easton. If he doesn't make it lyrically, then he will succeed with his beats… Rise of the E-Clipse people!
