Jimmy ValenTime – Understand
Jimmy Valentime is releasing his first official single titled “Understand” produced by Statik Selektah. “Understand” takes a more serious tone than jimmy’s previous mixtape records. “The way I would describe my rap style is if Common Sense was raised by The Joker. I am a really passionate person, but my sense humor has always been my best weapon. Like if you Google me, you’ll see more of the wild & crazy guy stuff, because that’s what has attracted an audience and been spread around. I am attempting to present a more balanced picture of myself with my new music”.
Understand is the first original record that Jimmy is releasing. Jimmy has nothing but praise for the popular producer Statik Selektah. “Statik was really down to earth and was willing to listen to my feedback on how I wanted the beat. I really appreciated that considering all the huge stars that have rhymed on his production. I remember getting out of school and going to Chinatown to buy ‘Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘The Prophecy’ when I was younger. Then a few years later I was in his studio picking a beat, it was a bit surreal for me.”
Jimmy will be revealing the album title in a few weeks, the album will feature production from Statik Selektah and Ski Beatz. The album will be available for free download in May. “I really don’t want people to call it a mixtape. It’s going to be a full length LP with all original tracks. I want to show people what I can do on my own before I partner or do business with anybody.”
